Today we welcome the year of the Rat, and give thanks that our family is warm and healthy and safe.

You may have heard about the severe winter storms affecting much of China. Much of the country is shut down. What many people don't realize is that some of the most severely affected by this storm are those the world often forgets about - the children living in orphanages. In many places the power is out, the children are cold, and food and water may be in short supply. Also, when the power and water are limited, the cloth diapers can't be washed.

We have received news that the children who live in the Dongguan CWI are all safe. It is colder there than it has been in recent memory, but the power is on and the children have food and water. I am so grateful that Evie is home safe with us.
