It's a Muh-mergency!
Evie's best friend in the whole world is Muh, her special Pink Bunny from Emily. Her favorite sign is bunny, her favorite word is Muh. She wants Muh when she is tired or cranky or sad or scared. She wants Muh to come with us in the car and in the stroller and sometimes in the shopping cart. I have tried to put a stop to Muh at the dinner table because Evie likes to hug her in between bites. (Muh wears a lot of sweet potatoes and squash!) Every once in a while, I have to quietly send Muh through the delicate cycle on the washer. I am always afraid that she won't come out in one piece!
This evening we went to parent teacher conferences at Em's school. (She is getting all A's and B's, and is doing really well!) We were in a hurry, so Muh got left at home. After we got home, Evie had her bottle, we put on pajamas, and got ready to rockabye.
Suddenly, we realized that Muh was missing! Evie started shouting "Muh! Muh!", louder and louder. (Richard wonders if she expects Muh to answer!) We looked in the living room, in the kitchen, and even in the bathroom. Richard finally found Muh in our bedroom. He was the hero! Evie grabbed Muh, hugged her, and made the sweet little sigh that means she is happy to have Muh to hold. Whew. The Muh-mergency was finally over.
Some pictures of Evie and Muh:
Alas, poor Muh often feels the other side of toddler love. Evie loves to toss her on the floor while we're rocking at night so I have to pick her up. She also likes to toss Muh out of the stroller or shopping cart. We are always sure to keep Evie's window in the car rolled up so Muh doesn't get tossed out onto the road!
